Exciting time to be involved in FM not only in Saudi Arabia but the UAE in general. How long before medium sized businesses start to capitalise on the potential in the Gulf region?
“One measure of the ‘sea change’ currently happening within KSA regarding the FM sector is the growing number of governmental/semi-governmental clients actively seeking licenced international FM providers for bids, and precluding the traditional O&M contractors,” explains Richard Naylor, CEO at DTZ KSA. “This growing demand has been reflected in the number of international and well renowned GCC FM companies that are now seeking to establish themselves in Saudi Arabia,”. Over the last year the company has witnessed a surge in interest for FM, particularly within Saudi Arabia’s technology, healthcare, finance and retail sectors. Quite possibly its biggest success story in 2015 lay with a FM consultancy commission that was awarded for the Kingdom Tower in Jeddah. Slated for completion by 2019, the structure is expected to become the tallest building in the world at a height of one kilometre.
